Planet Rezillo Newsletter
Now
then, Now Then, Guys n' Gals, it's newsletter time again, and, as it 'appens,
Jo here is going to fix it for you to get all the latest 'gen', would you
believe from thee Planet of the Rezilleau.
There has been a meeting of the
committee, where it was decided that all present would be wearing grey
trousers and that the following information would be imparted:
A new release!
As of late
November/Early December, we have the expected CD release of the much
requested, long awaited and tentatively titled: "Rezillos Radio
Times" Album, which will consist of the two BBC John Peel (Shines
The Name) Radio One sessions from the olden days of Platform Shoes and Safety
Pins, PLUS a brand new session from the futuristic Twenty First Century that
we are recording this week for a leading Scottish Radio Station! The Album
will be released on the 'Damaged
Goods' Label and should be available at all good record stores, and
hopefully for download on one of the new on-line music websites such as the 'i-Tunes
store'. Final track lusting ....I mean listing, hasn't been decided yet, but
naturally we are very excited about this album, as it will be the first time
we'll have released any of our new material! Expect more specific details in
future "Planet Rezillo" newsletters that we anticipate
to be out now each month until at least the end of the year.
Live dates
Having all
gotten sick to death of sitting on our fat arses watching 'Big Brother' and
'Building The Dream', we've also decided that, seeing as how we'll soon have
the "Rezillos Radio Times" to promote, it's time we
trod the boards again. With that in mind we now have a confirmed engagement at
The London 'Mean
Fiddler' (formerly 'The Astoria 2' and the same venue as our last
London date on 01/02/03, if youse can mind 'ay that ken) Tickets are on
sale as you read, so 'Get in There!' Our last show at the Mean Fiddler
was an absolute Gas, the huge turn out and vibrant attitude of the crowd
completely blew us away, and it still blows me away just to think of it.
Yessiree we'd all love another helping of that! So book early to avoid
disappointment. There will hopefully be another couple of UK dates around the
same time, but nothing is confirmed as yet, so watch this space for news
updates.
Thunderbirds Are Gone!
Hands up all
those who thought the new 'Thunderbirds' film was shit? (apart from 'Parker').
But don't worry, wait for the upcoming 'Team
America', a movie from the makers of 'South Park' which looks like being a
belter. -check out the trailers on-line.
And
America is the place 'Team Rezillo' are hoping to re-visit in the not too
distant future, as we are in the process of planning another tour of the
Colonies hopefully for around March/April of next year, in the year 2005
....If man is still alive ...If woman can survive, They may find .......Yesss
'Big Brother' 5. Again more details in future issues of The 'Planet
Rezillo Newsletter' (Phew, I nearly lost it there on that 'Zager &
Evans' thing)
The
most imminent event in the Rezilloid calendar will affect the entire fabric of
the Rezillo universe itself, as Planet Rezillo i.e. www.rezillos.com.
is getting a major overhaul, which Science and Engineering Officers; Lt. M.
Percival and Lt. R.McIntyre tell us will look really top notch with
new layouts and significant new content. We don't want to give too much away
just yet, but 'tune in' to 'Planet
Rezillo' around the beginning of September to catch the grand
unveiling!
Also look out for some Fan Club
'special offers' and maybe more competitions in the weeks to follow (winners
of the last competition will be contacted in the near future). And please do
feel free to e-mail us with your views and suggestions (mail@rezillos.com),
as the website will be constantly evolving over time, and we'd like to present
you with the kinds of content that you'd all like to see.
Other news
A couple of other dates for the
diary that are worth mentioning are; Friday, October 29th, When former
Bassman William Mysterious will be performing his especially
entertaining solo show, supporting '999' at the 'Citrus Club' in
Grindlay Street, Edinburgh (check with venue for further details). And also on
Saturday, September 25th, this year of our Lord 2004, when i'll be
doing a wee DJ spot for the 'Jailhouse' Rock Club in Teviot Row
Edinburgh. It's been a long time since I manned the 'Wheels of Steel', so Pete
Tong or Roger Sanchez I definitely aint. Incidently, this same Venue was the
setting of "The Rezillos" first ever public performance!
And
finally, on behalf of the whole band, (mind 'ay us?)* and all those involved
with maintaining our little universe, thank you all most sincerely for your
continued patience, interest and enthusiasm throughout what's been a difficult
year for us. And now that we are finally in the process, -of makin' some
progress, -bringing recreation with the mostess' we certainly hope it will be
worth the wait. You have all really helped to keep things going here. And we
look forward to seeing youse all again soon!
Ah've
got blisters on me fingers!
Jo
* "mind 'ay us?";
Scottish colloquialism, means "Do You Remember Us?"
